My Story
My thirst for life began at a young age as I was energized by new experiences, travel and meeting people. My curious mind and outgoing personality served me well in the creative field of design where I listened to and solved problems for clients for over 35 years. In my early 40’s my life came to a sudden halt when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. I battled for 3 years as the disease metastasized and more surgeries were required.
With the ongoing support of family and friends – and my determination to survive – I regained my health with more passion than ever to make a difference in this life. I had the privilege of being intimately involved in the care and final journey of both of my parents, several relatives and friends. I realized over time that I had a calling to become an End-of-Life Doula.
Personal Statement
The journey of a terminally ill individual can be overwhelming to them as well as their families. I am passionate about listening to the concerns and wishes of both parties and finding ways to help ease their burden and assist them in finding a path to peace & acceptance.
